E-Books at Brandel: 3. Transfer an e-book to your device

iOS

Authorize an e-reading app

  1. Download Bluefire Reader from the app store.
  2. Open the app and go to Info.
  3. Click on the "Authorize" button. Enter your Adobe ID and password.

Transfer the e-book

  1. Connect your iPad/iPhone to your computer.
  2. In iTunes, select your device and go to Apps. Scroll down to find the section labeled "File Sharing," and select Bluefire Reader from the list of apps.
  3. Click Add to add an e-book. The file you need to add is not the .acsm file you downloaded. Instead, go to your Documents folder and look for a folder called My Digital Editions. Select the book you want to add.
  4. The book should now appear in Bluefire Reader. Be aware that once your checkout period has expired, you will no longer be able to open the book.

Android

Authorize an e-reading app

  1. Download Aldiko from Google Play.
  2. Open the app. When it prompts you for authorization, click "Authorize."
  3. Enter your Adobe ID credentials, or click on "Get Adobe ID.".
  4. When you download an e-book from EBSCO or EBL, Aldiko should open it automatically.
