Specialized Reference Works: Time Periods and Christian Traditions

  • After consulting some of the general dictionaries of theology listed, use one or more reference books that focus on a historical period, a faith tradition within Christianity, another religious tradition, or even an individual, depending on the your paper subject.
  • These additional resources give you overviews, more extensive and more in-depth, and further bibliographies. Titles that appear in multiple bibliographies should be high priorities for your research.
  • The following are only samples of many such works in Brandel Library. Most are in the Reference section, but some are in the General Collection and can be checked out.
  • Some of these are available electronically from the Brandel website as well.
