Finding Articles Print Page

Try Multisearch to search most of our databases simultaneously.  This will help you:

  • Find the full-text of an article when you have a complete citation
  • Help you find complete bibliographic information when you have a partial citation
  • Search several databases when you have very specific search terms

Because Multisearch searches such a broad collection of articles, you will get too many results if you do a general search.

Use databases to search for articles on campus and off.  When you are prompted for a username and password, enter your usual North Park information.

    • ATLA Religion Database
ATLA is the primary database for research in your field. It indexes journal articles, book chapters and more. Not all of the articles are full-text.
    • JSTOR
JStor is a full-text database containing core journals in several disciplines including religion and philosphy. Each journal goes back to its first issue, but does not include the most recent two to five years.
    • Project Muse
This database provides online access to over 300 high quality humanities, arts, and social science journals from 60 scholarly publishers. It includes the most recent years not covered by JStor.
    • SAGE Premier
Sage Premier is a full-text, scholarly database that is particularly strong in the social sciences.

    Finding Full Text

When a database article is not full-text, the "Find Full Text" box will appear.  Click on this box to:

    • Link to the full-text in another database
    • Look in the online catalog for the print version in the Brandel or other library or
    • Order the article from another library via Interlibrary Loan

If you use interlibrary loan, an order form will appear.  Just enter your name, email address, and the barcode number on your ID.  The article will be emailed to you for free as a PDF.
